—-
Red Carpet of Evolution,
The long road of survival;
Origin of species by natural selection.
The baculum that ceased to
Become a bone and a giant ruby
That became the source of
A mushy renaissance.
—–
So how did love evolve?
Darwin if alive would say adaptation.
—–
The strange twists that by which
We live, we love, we break our bodies
Like the holy Eucharist.
—–
Adam and Eve,
Or Adam and Steve;
—–
And yet what is most worthy
Of believing is, King Kong and queen Kong,
Two monkeys that let their tails
Not live another day, as
God watched on,
The perverted voyeur he is;
—–
The long road of evolution,
Has plenty of detours,
And an apotheosis – a species
Capable of falling in love.
There was no love for monkeys
Or apes, they were just savage,
As humans evolved garments, and chose
When to absolve them
Of their causes.
—–
We are not prudes.
Dogs fetch a stick, or chew a bone;
While humans take a boneless invertebrate,
With their pelvis – and mouth –
The onus of two beings, is to make
A vice into the prized,
The alter is not about sacrifice,
Only the conviction to dare,
That we will never fall out of love.
—-
Darwin looked at God and said,
“Evolution is the red carpet”;
—-
As we marched on with a myriad of
Wardrobe malfunctions;
—-
Like that notorious penis bone,
& meadows of fur.
